RIFF Registration opens August 15, 2023

After adding the registration fee to your cart, please select from the tracs below. Only one registration fee is required per student.
Must be added to all tracs including: Adv/Pre Pro Trac A & B, Advanced/Intermediate, Intermediate, RIFF RAFF, Masters Series, and Educator Series.
Adv/Pre Pro Tracs are designed for the highest level of tap dancer who is accustomed to the tap festival scene. Minimum age is 14. If under 14, a video submission will be required to confirm placement. The Advanced/Pre Pro tracs are our most advanced classes operating at a very fast speed and are designed for dancers who are or are emerging into the professional world of tap dance. Must have a solid grasp of advanced technique and musicality.
Advanced-Intermediate Trac is for the serious tap dancer who is well versed in technique, musicality and comes with a substantial knowledge base. These are advanced classes operating at a very fast pace and are designed for dancers who are on the younger side, but still hold an advanced level of technique and musicality. Minimum age is 11.
Intermediate Trac is for the tap student who has been studying for a few years at an intermediate level or feels the need to take it a bit slower. This trac is for those tap dancers with a strong base of technique and who are looking for a more relaxed pace of class. This trac will challenge all ages who must have a solid grasp of basic technique and musicality. (Not for beginners)
RIFF RAFF Trac is back by popular demand! This trac is for the tap student who has just begun studying with a couple of years under their belt. RIFF RAFF is for those tap dancers with a basic understanding of technique and musicality, and is designed for 6-9 year old dancers. While this is not a beginner trac, it is for those very young dancers looking to see what the tap festival world is all about!
The Masters Series is for working tap professionals, whether that be a performer, teacher, etc. Attendee must be 18+ and of advanced skill level. This is not an intermediate adult class as it will operate at a fast pace. This trac is perfect for those wanting an in depth course which dives deep into different philosophies of technique while also giving you the advantage of selecting 4 additional classes in any level of your choice. Attendees must have a solid grasp of advanced technique and musicality.
Educator Series We are excited to announce this new series for dance teachers! We have designed this with careful consideration of the needs of tap teachers today; from technique classes, history classes, teaching methodologies, body percussion, and more! Also includes 2 additional classes in any level of your choice. Attendees must have a solid grasp of advanced technique and musicality.
Derick is creating another amazing piece for our concert using our RIFF Jazz band. Rehearsals will begin Friday morning, January 12th. Performance will be Sunday, January 14th.

New! This is an amazing opportunity to experience the choreography of Elziabeth Burke. Rehearsals will begin Friday morning, January 12th. Performance will be Sunday, January 14th.

This year we are offering a residency for 10-13 year olds. This piece choreographed by Maddie Murphy will perform in our acclaimed TAPN2TAP Concert at the Eisemann Theater. Rehearsals will begin Friday morning, January 12th. Performance will be Sunday, January 14th.

New! This is an amazing opportunity to experience the Heather Cornell and learn the techniques of sand dance along with some phrases to take back home and work on. This amazing art form was passed down directly to Heather from the great Harriett “Quicksand” Browne. Must be enrolled in either the Educator Trac or the Masters Trac. Minimum age 18.
***ONLY ONE STUDENT SHOWCASE PER DANCER***
Student Showcase - We will once again be able to offer two evenings of student showcases. Taking place on Friday and Saturday evenings, participants will perform in front of an open audience as well as some of our RIFF Dallas faculty. Dancers will receive instant, on the spot feedback from the faculty panel. Registration will be available for these at the end of August. There is a fee for performing in the showcase, however spectators are FREE to observe and support. ***ONLY ONE PER STUDENT*** If you add more than one showcase to your cart, there will be a $10 service fee for the refund.
RESIDENCY APPLICATIONS
Please use the “APPLY FOR A RESIDENCY” button to submit your application for any of the residencies: Derick Grant Live Band Experience, Nicholas Van Young Live Band Experience, Maddie Murphy residency. Once accepted, you will receive an invoice or a link to remit payment.

Both Derick’s and Nicholas’s residencies will be approximately 9 hours of rehearsal and choreography time and will culminate in a performance at the TAPN2TAP Concert. The residencies will begin Friday morning, January 12th.
The New Youth Residency with Maddie Murphy will begin on Friday morning, January 12th and will perform in the TAPN2TAP Concert.
